For so long we have seemingly ignored the remarks of candidates during their campaigns against those of the same party when seek that party’s nomination as “just politics”. It’s as though this particularly form of lying is okay, well, just because.
No, it’s not okay. A lie is a lie is a lie, and politicians on both sides of the fence have been given a pass for too long.
Carly Fiorina was selected by Ted Cruz recently as his VP running mate, never mind that he actually can’t select a running mate in the brokered convention he seeks. Details, details.
Let’s see what his new bestie said when she was running for the top spot.
In this interview, Fiorina said, “I would say that Ted Cruz is just like any other politician. He says one thing in Manhattan. He says another thing in Iowa. He says whatever he needs to say to get elected, and then he’s going to do as he pleases. I think the American people are tired of the political class that promises much and delivers much of the same.”
In this interview, Fiorina said, “And this is why Ted Cruz cannot possibly beat Hillary Clinton.”
You cannot have it both ways, Carly. You were either being dishonest then or you’re being dishonest now. Those are the only two options. Stop trying to hide behind “that’s politics” and tell us…which is it?
