“MOOC” stands for “Massive Open Online Course” and has taken the Internet by storm with academic institutions and individual educators alike. Not everyone wishes to go to college and obtain a degree, but they love to learn and would gladly “audit” courses if they could fit them into their schedule. MOOCs solve that problem by offering courses for “audit” (or even for certificates) online that people can take on their schedule.
