Trump is Picking His White House Staff Directly from the ‘Swamp’ He Promised to Drain

By Allison Vincent / 11.11.2016

Trump hasn’t even been sworn in, but he’s already breaking key promises that he pledged to implement the very day he stepped into the White House. Remember all that “Drain the Swamp!” talk? Yeah. He lied. Surprise, surprise!

According to CNN, top picks for his transition into the White House include former Rep. Mike Rogers, former Reagan Attorney General and Heritage Foundation fellow Edwin Meese, former President of Heritage Edwin Feulner, former Bush administration official and lobbyist Christine Ciccone, former Dick Cheney adviser Ado Machida, former Senate Budget Committee staffer Eric Ueland and former Sen. Jeff Sessions’ chief of staff Rick Dearborn. The effort is chaired by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Trump counts former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Sessions as close advisors. Texas Rep. Mike McCaul, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, is also on the list and being considered for Secretary of Homeland Security.

While we don’t know for sure that everyone on this list will be picked, we do know that Trump and his team have asked for at least 2 dozen people to be vetted for security clearance and access to classified information and already a few key people have received it, including Newt Gingrich, Chris Christie and Rudy Giuliani. Those three alone could fill an entire swamp by themselves!

So what about this “Drain the Swamp!” promise, Mr. Trump? What happened to ridding Washington of the establishment that you claim to loathe? This is one of the things you said you were going to do in order to “Make America Great Again!” This little platform of yours was what so many of your supporters voted on! What do you plan to tell them? You’re not even sitting in President Obama’s chair yet, and you’ve already proven him and the millions of people who voted for Hillary Clinton right. You’re a liar and a cheat and this is what we have to look forward to for the next 4 years.

Welcome to Trump’s America.
