

In the western U.S., water contamination has been a way of life for many tribes. The advocacy group Clean Up The Mines! describes the situation in Navajo country, which is far worse than in Flint, Michigan.
The situation in Flint is undeniably horrific and absolutely inexcusable. It calls for accountability at all levels, up to and including Governor Snyder. But it’s not unique.
Other cities across the nation have water contamination issues to address that border on Flint. But forgotten are those poorer areas where attention rarely goes, such as the Navajo.
